.Time for an update.

Its been quite a while since I have blogged, but a good friend of mine encouraged me to start again - since a big new adventure is starting in our lives!

Thane and I had been excited to start a family for months, so when I got a positive pregnancy test at the end of March I was so excited. I had taken the test while thane was at a school meeting (not really expecting it to be positive), when I saw the two pink lines I had to keep checking the box to make sure that meant pregnant because I was in shock! I then had to wait 3 hours for Thane to get home from his meeting (longest 3 hours of my life). But it gave me time to think up a way to tell him. When he got in I told him to check the oven for a special surprise, he wasn't expecting this!
Congrats Daddy! We have a bun in the oven!
The next few weeks were torture until we were able to go into my 8 week appointment, and get the first look at my little one. The first trimester wasn't too bad, as long as I ate NON-STOP. I even had to have fruit snacks in my pocket at work to eat when I needed it.
He might have been not more than a little bean, but I thought he was the cutest bean I had ever seen!

From there I just started growing, slowly at first, but it picked up speed! So did my nausea from 10 weeks to 13 weeks, but still it was manageable!

It was the long anticipated moment when at 22 weeks we got to go get an ultrasound and find out whether our nursery was going to be pink or blue! I was so excited when the ultrasound technician came in, that I couldn't stop giggling, which made her laugh, so I finally had to calm down so she could do her job. He looked a lot more like a baby this time, though the little stinker kept covering his face so we couldn't see it! He did however wave to use with his little hand, which was unbearably cute! We also found out we were expecting a little boy! Thane and I couldn't be happier!

At 24 weeks we had another big life change and shipped ourselves out to live in Hawaii because Thane had a really great job offer. It was definitely a big adventure, and I was both excited and terrified. Definitely didn't think I was going to be having a baby so far from home!
The first month we had to live in a hotel which was absolutely miserable. But we tried to keep busy and out of our room in the evenings, and look around!
At the end of August we finally got moved into our cute little apartment, I was so relieved! It wasn't more than a week and a half later that Thane and I added a new addition to our family. We picked up Daisy, a  2 year old Shar-Pei mix from the humane society (best anniversary gift ever!), and has been an amazing companion for me, especially as it took some time to meet people!
30 weeks

34 weeks

I am now 37 weeks, and still feeling pretty good! Besides being tired sometimes, I really do love being pregnant! It is so fun feeling this little man move around (especially now that he isn't so much in my ribs, and is giving me space to  breathe!)I think I will miss it when he is finally here, but I really can't wait. It is so close! I am grateful for the opportunity to carry a baby and be a mom.  Thane and I can't wait for him to get here, and hope that in some small way we are prepared for this biggest adventure yet!
