As soon as we got to Thane's house he was ready to get out on the boat and do some wake boarding! There were some dark clouds in the distance, but we were sure they were far enough away that we could get some play time in, so we went in the opposite directions of the clouds.
We went a couple miles upriver before we switched and Thane and I jumped into a tube!
But just as we started going, something happened to the boat and it died. So we sat in the tube for awhile... until the thunder came! Then we got the heck out of the water! Soon after, it started raining. HARD! Thane's Dad said this was probably the hardest he had seen it rain. One boat came out to help, then suddenly said it was too windy for them to help and they left us there! So we huddled together, using the tube for an umbrella, and pushing ourselves away from the rocks. It was then that Aubrey said those fateful words "At least it isn't snowing!". I then said "Aubrey, your not supposed to say that or it will do something like hail!" - sure enough within 30 seconds it started HAILING! Oh my goodness.
The rain and hail went on for around 20 minutes while people stared out at us from their cabin windows. So when it finally subsided, a boat was quick out to our rescue, and they towed us into their dock. Thank goodness! By this point we were all shivering and had blue lips.
The people who saved us were very concerned, but thanks to all my other crazy adventures with my mom and brother, this was normal, and super funny to me!
So it all ended ok, and we got home safe, and had some nice hot chocolate to end our adventure. And luckily enjoyed the rest of the weekend in warmth!
Love reading your blog. You always have such adventures.
